Description of field of view

EIT efr20030108.194445

NW corner of the solar disk, slightly shifted south to include AR nr 10242.

  • Active AR 10242
  • Polar coronal hole with equatorial trunk towards AR 10242
  • Several quiescent prominences towards west limb
  • ARs 10239-10240 over the west limb

Info: Movie in 175 and 304Å (131 frames 800x400, duration ~13s). The movie contains synchronous pairs of pictures in 175/304Å bands in the selected windows (15'x15') after subtraction of background and reduction to solar coordinates. Angular scale is 2,7"/pix. Intensities are represented in the scale ~Int^0.7. (Vladimir Slemzin)

    Events

  • C flare occured starting at 15:22 UT in AR NOAA 10242, visible within the CDS field of view. Therese Kucera provided three images showing this event:
