SIDC URSIGRAM 30608 SIDC SOLAR BULLETIN 08 Jun 2003, 1230UT SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230UT, 08 Jun 2003 until 10 Jun 2003) SOLAR FLARES : Active (M-class flares expected, probability >= 50%) GEOMAGNETISM : Active conditions expected (A>=20 or K=4) SOLAR PROTONS : Warning condition PREDICTIONS FOR 08 Jun 2003 10CM FLUX: 140 / AP: 029 PREDICTIONS FOR 09 Jun 2003 10CM FLUX: 145 / AP: 024 PREDICTIONS FOR 10 Jun 2003 10CM FLUX: 151 / AP: 012 COMMENT: Since yesterday the Earth was situated inside another interaction region between two fast solar wind flows from the large trans-equatorial coronal hole in the southern hemisphere, so geomagnetic conditions were at the disturbed level. However, north-south interplanetary magnetic field component Bz is currently slightly positive, so the geomagnetic activity may calm down. Moreover, this coronal hole is going away from the central meridian, so its influence will be finished soon. Beta-gamma-delta NOAA AR 0375 (Catania number 22) is now close to the center of the solar disk and may produce a CME directed towards the Earth, as well as a proton event.
