The largest flare produced in the past 24 hours was a C1.2 from Catania 55 earlier today. This was also the only C-class flare since yesterday's forecast. Since both sunspot groups are growing and remain magnetically complex, it is very likely that we'll see some more C-class flares from these regions, while there is also a small chance for an M-class flare. Geomagnetic conditions have remained quiet the past 24 hours and are expected to remain so. Although the solar wind speed is still high at more than 500 km/s, the north-south component of the IMF is hovering near zero and the density is quite low, so that geomagnetic effects of this high speed solar wind stream remain limited.
