SIDC URSIGRAM 40124 SIDC SOLAR BULLETIN 24 Jan 2004, 1230UT SIDC FORECAST (valid from 1230UT, 24 Jan 2004 until 26 Jan 2004) SOLAR FLARES : Quiet conditions (<50% probability of C-class flares) GEOMAGNETISM : Quiet (A<20 and K<4) SOLAR PROTONS : Quiet PREDICTIONS FOR 24 Jan 2004 10CM FLUX: 105 / AP: 017 PREDICTIONS FOR 25 Jan 2004 10CM FLUX: 095 / AP: 007 PREDICTIONS FOR 26 Jan 2004 10CM FLUX: 090 / AP: 011 COMMENT: There was no significant solar activity past UT day. Background X-ray emission is on B1 level. Solar wind parameters remained elevated during most of the UT day, leading to minor storm conditions (NOAA Kp=5). ACE data shows possible evidence of the arrival of the CME related to the second filament eruption, at about 05:30 UT 24/1. For the rest of the day we expect quiet to active conditions. There is a small equatorial coronal hole passing through a geoeffective position which could have little influence today. For the next two days we expect quiet conditions. A large coronal hole, which now covers the central meridian, could become geoeffective on 27/1.
