For the first 12 hours, some small (B- or C-class) flaring activity may still be expected from the west limb, until the active regions there have rotated away completely. Thereafter, the X-ray background is expected to drop to A-level with no flares of significance. Geomagnetic activity is currently quiet with a solar wind speed near 400 km/s and decreasing. We expect quiet conditions for the rest of today and the first half of tomorrow. During the second half of the UT day tomorrow, the Earth will come under the influence of an equatorial coronal hole. We expect active conditions from then onwards.
