Meanwhile, the Bz-component of the interplanetary magnetic field makes intermittent but strong southward excursions up till -15 nT. These excursions push the K-index up till a level of K=5. Continued disturbed geomagnetic conditions are expected for the days ahead due to the influence of a coronal hole.
