COMMENT: Recent flaring activity was confined to a C1.0 flare and a few B-flares
from mainly Catania sunspot group 04 (NOAA 0719). This region is growing and
seems likely to produce more C-class flares or even an M-flare. Also the new
sunspot group in the northeast, Catania 05 (NOAA 0720) has a good chance for
C-flares.
The geomagnetic conditions are influenced by a small coronal hole in the
southeren solar hemisphere. The north-south component of the IMF is very
variable with short intervals of mild southwards orientation. We therefore
expect quiet to active conditions.
