COMMENT: The CME accompanying the New Years X-flare has a speed around 1000
km/s and can arrive at earth early tomororow, Dec 3. Active, possible minor
storm conditions are expected. At the moment, the solar wind speed measured by
ACE is around 800 km/s. A possible cause of this increased speed can be a
coronal hole. The second part of it can influence the geomagnetic field in two
or three days.
