Only an occasional C flare may be produced by one of the small active regions now on the Sun. The X-ray background has now dropped below the B1 level. The solar wind speed remains elevated, but it decreases steadily, and is now approching 550km/s. As Bz remains small around 0, the geomagnetic field is expected to remain mostly quiet to unsettled over the coming 3-day period, though brief active conditions may occur at high latitudes in the next 24h. After a long decay phase, the proton flux in all energy bands is now returning to normal background levels.
