There is only a low chance of an isolated C flare in the next 3 days. The solar wind speed is now close to 350km/s. The only noteworthy event was a sector boundary crossing around 23:00 UT on Jan.27, that just pushed temporarily the Kp geomagnetic index to 2 or 3. Now, the IMF is stronger, but with a mostly positive Bz. The geomagnetic field is thus expected to remain quiet in the coming hours. However, within 24 hours, we predict that it will become unsettled to active under the influence of a low-latitude coronal hole.
