However, a long filament is situated in the Catania sunspot group 59. In the case of eruption the corresponding CME might not encounter the Earth because the filament is situated relatively far from the central meridian. A CME-driven shock, however, may arrive producing disturbed geomagnetic conditions. The Earth is now inside the fast wind stream from a coronal hole. We expect the active geomagnetic conditions at most as the IMF is weak and Bz is positive on average.
