They may produce C flares and a possible isolated M flare in the coming days, in particular AR 38/741. A C8 flare was just produced by this region at 11:40 UT. The solar wind speed still remains high, at 650-700km/s, with Bz fluctuating near 0. Late yesterday, Bz stayed sligthly negative for a few hours, which produced active to minor storm conditions at the Earth during that period. The geomagnetic field is expected to remain unsettled to active, as it is now, for one more day, with still a chance for temporary minor geomagnetic storms at high latitudes. Thereafter, by March 12, the geomagnetic field should return to quiet conditions, as the fast wind infuence finally decays.
