SOLAR FLARES  : Quiet conditions (<50% probability of C-class flares)
GEOMAGNETISM  : Quiet (A<20 and K<4)
SOLAR PROTONS : Quiet
PREDICTIONS FOR 18 Jan 2006  10CM FLUX: 082 / AP: 008

COMMENT: NOAA ARs 0846 and 0847 (Catania sunspot groups 97 and 98
respectively) stopped their growth. Therefore, we expect flaring
activity to decrease further. As evidenced by ACE and SOHO/CELIAS data,
the solar wind speed has increased today to around 530 km/s. However,
the magnetic field magnitude and the density did not change. We thus
expect the geomagnetic situation to remain quiet. The growing solar wind
speed, however, indicates that some new structures may arrive and the
geomagnetic activity thus may slightly increase.
