During the previous rotation a fast stream was encountered on Dec 10th which led to sporadic minor storm conditions Dec 11th; the stream would be expected to return around Jan 6th. Whilst it is hard to identify a likely source the same was true on earlier rotations so we tentatively forecast sporadic active conditions towards the end of the week. Solar activity is expected to remain low to very low with NOAA AR 0841 (Catania 89) holding the greatest, albeit small, potential for an isolated event. Old NOAA AR 0834 is due to rotate over the E limb before the end of the week which may increase the background X-ray and 10.7cm radio fluxes, though it was declining during its previous transit.
