A recurrent fast stream, whose likely source remains hard to identify, may be encountered from Jan 6 with the potential to lead to brief active periods. A CME associated with the flare from this morning was relatively narrow and does not appear to have a significant earth-directed component Solar activity is expected to remain low. NOAA AR 0843 (Catania 90) yielded a C4.4 flare this morning and retains the potential for another isolated C-class event before rotating over the W limb over the coming weekend.
