Geomagnetic activity is expected to be quiet to unsettled. A coronal hole is approaching geoeffective longitudes and it might increase the geomagnetic activity to unsettled levels either later on Jan. 11th or on Jan. 12th. Current readings of the solar wind conditions as measured by the ACE spacecraft reveal an increase in the solar wind speed and moderate excursion of the Bz compoment of the interplanetary magnetic field, suggesting the Earth might indeed enter the fast solar wind stream linked to this coronal hole.
