COMMENT: Catania sunspot group 54 (NOAA AR 1057) is starting to decay.
An isolated C-flare is, however, still possible. A partial halo CME was
observed by LASCO yesterday, starting from 08:54 UT. Its speed was
around 300 km/s. Due to the absence of any associated activity on the
solar disk, this CME was determined to be backside. The Earth is
currently inside the slow (around 390 km/s) solar wind flow with average
(4-5 nT) interplanetary magnetic field magnitude. An interplanetary
sector boundary was crossed by ACE yesterday around noon, but no faster
solar wind stream followed up to now. We expect quiet geomagnetic
conditions.
