LED Global Intensity

The Global intensity is estimated by taking the average Data Number over the central 1600 x 1600 pixels of an LED calibration image. The images are selected using the criteria for the monthly calibration LED observations. The blue points show the calculated average for each image, the magenta points show these values with the corresponding dark image subtracted. The time interval represents the period where regular images with these parameters have been taken. The vertical green bars show the times of Solar Orbiter perihelia. The averages are scaled such that the most recent average has a value of 1.0. To guide the eye, a horizontal orange line is plotted at the level of the most recent data point for each image.

Dark Image Global Intensity

The Dark Image Global intensity is calculated in the same manner as LED Global Intensity but using the corresponding dark frame with the same observation parameters at the monthly LED images. The vertical green bars show the times of Solar Orbiter perihelia. The averages are scaled such that the most recent average has a value of 1.0. To guide the eye, a horizontal orange line is plotted at the level of the most recent data point for each image.

Monthly Ratio

Comparison with Early

The ratio of the most recent monthly LED campaign image with an early image using the same set of parameters is shown. To account for LED stability effects, the latest image taken on the earliest day is used for comparison with the most recent image. Plotted beside these are histograms of the ratio for each instrument and gain setting. The vertical grey bars on each histogram show the median value of the ratios.
